How to Point a Godaddy Domain Name to Hostinger (2024)

Do you purchase Domain name from Godaddy and Hosting from Hostinger? And do you want to point Godaddy Domain to Hostinger?

Many people when they want to start their online business, purchase a domain from Godaddy, and after some time when they want to design their website, they come to know Hostinger is the cheap and best WordPress Hosting.

Now they panic, about how to run my website on Hostinger while having a domain on Godaddy.

Here We will discuss an easy and practical way to Point Your GoDaddy Domain to Your Hostinger website.

Step 1: Log in to GoDaddy.com

Step 2: Navigate to Domains

Step 3: Goto Manage DNS

Step 4: Select Nameservers from Menu

Step 5: Click on Change Nameservers

Step 6: Choose I will use my own nameservers

Step 7: Copy & Paste Hostinger Nameservers

Step 8: Save & Continue

Step 9: Login to Hostinger Hpanel

Step 10: Click on Add Website/Connect Domain

Step 11: Select Use an Existing Domain

Step 12: Enter the Domain name

Step 13: Save & Continue

Step 1: Log in to Godaddy.com

The first and foremost step is to go to GoDaddy.com and then log in to your Godaddy Account.

Step 2: Navigate to Domains

After logging in to your Godaddy Account, now navigate to the Domain section in the GoDaddy Account.

Step 3: Goto Manage DNS

Now Click on Manage DNS as shown above. You will be redirected to the DNS page in Domain Portfolio.

Step 4: Select Nameservers from Menu

Now you are on the DNS page, select Nameservers from the menu that appears on this page, as shown in the figure.

Step 5: Click on Change Nameservers

In the Nameservers, select the domain name which you want to point to Hostinger from GoDaddy. and Click on Change Nameservers as shown above.

Step 6: Choose I will use my own nameservers

After Clicking on Change Nameservers, you will get a dialogue box where you will see 2 options. The first option is GoDaddy Nameservers. and the Other Option is that I’ll use my own nameservers.

Click on I will use my own Nameservers.

Step 7: Copy & Paste Hostinger Nameservers

Now Copy & Paste Hostinger Nameservers as shown below.

Hostinger nameservers are as follows:

  • ns1.dns-parking.com
  • ns2.dns-parking.com

Step 8: Save & Continue

Now Click on Save and Continue to the next step. You will get an alert, in which it is said that changing nameservers is risky… Click on Continue.

Hurray You have successfully pointed your GoDaddy Domain to Hostinger.

Now we have to use this Domain on our Hostinger Hosting and design our website. So, let’s start doing that.

Step 9: Login to Hostinger Hpanel

Now login to your Hostinger Hpanel. Navigate to the website’s section.

Step 10: Click on Add Website/Connect Domain

Now Click on Add Website or Connect Domain (if you have already setup your hosting with a temporary Domain) as shown above. You will be redirected to a page where you have to select or purchase your domain.

Step 11: Select Use an Existing Domain

Now select “Use an existing Domain name” from the given three options. After selecting it, you will be redirected to a page where you have to write your Domain name.

Step 12: Enter the Domain name

As shown above, write your Domain name, and click on Continue. Now Hostinger will show you the details of your Domain name, and here you will see the Domain Provider, expiration date, existing nameservers as shown below. Since, we have already changed our nameservers to Hostinger nameservers, it is showing Hostinger Nameservers. Else you will see there GoDaddy Nameservers, and you have to repeat steps 1 to 8 to change it to Hostinger nameservers.

Step 13: Save & Continue

Now Click on Save and Continue.

Hurray! You have successfully pointed your Godaddy Domain to Your Hostinger account.

Remember! Pointing a domain name to different service providers can take up to 24 hours.

How to Check nameservers changed or not?

Now if you want to check whether or not your nameservers change completed. Then Go to Whats My DNS website and write your Domain name.

You can see all DNS records of the Domain name. Here in our case, you can see the nameservers of your Domain name in different countries.
